Food Poisoning in Banyumas, Central Java

According information from Banyumas District Health Office on April 20, 2008 at 03.00 p.m., health problems caused by food poisoning in Banyumas District, Central Java and the responding efforts are:
1. On April 19, 2008 at 03.00 p.m., an outbreak of food poisoning occurred in Gumelar Subdistrict. It hit people in Samudra Kulon, Samudra, Gumelar, Cihonje and Cilangkap Villages that consumed meatball and friend rice sold by a street seller in Samudra Kulon Village. The symptoms cover queasy, vomit, diarrhea, headache and stomach ache.
2. Health Problems It poisons 92 victims:
no dead victim
16 outpatients
76 inpatients (70 are recovered, and 4 are still in Gumelar Health Center and 2 in Ajibarang Hospital

evacuation
providing health service in Gumelar Health Center and Ajibarang Hospital
epidemiologic examination
taking and sending food sample
coordinating with related institution in subdistrict and district levels
distributing logistic and medicine
applying supports of medic and paramedic to purwokerto Red-Cross Conclusion By now, health problems are tackled by local health personnel. However, Banyumas District Health Office, Central Java Regional PPK and MoH PPK still monitor the situation.
